island. The island has a number of ancient temples,
the most famous being Wat Poramai Yikawat. |

Kwan Aman (Pak Kret) |

a Mon cultural center that displays Mon earthenware
with ancient patterns. Nowadays there are still people
who make pottery for home use. Each piece has a lovely
design that is unique to the province. |

Wat Ku (Pak Kret) |
| |
was
built in the reign of King Taksin the Great. It is in
the Mon style. The temple is the site where Queen Sunantha
Kumarirat, a queen of King Rama V, died when her barge
sank in an accident. The remains of the boat are still
at the temple. |

Wat Chaloem Phra Kiat (Muang) |
| |
was
built by King Rama III to honor his grandparents and
mother. The assembly hall has wall murals and its exterior
