The Songkran Festival is an important festival of Songkhla
Province. The objective of the festival is to promote the
good culture and traditions of Thailand. The festival is
an activity that has received a great amount of interest
from foreign tourists, especially Malaysian and Singaporean
tourists. It is certainly one major tourism promotion event
for Songkhla. Each year many tourists partake in the fun
and join in the celebrations, particularly in downtown Hat
Yai. The festival generates substantial revenue for local
tourist businesses and people involved in tourism.
Activities
:
- Miss Songkran pageant and Miss Songkran procession.
- Fire fountain shows and cultural performances.
- Contests of local chickens, roosters, Krong Hua Chuk birds,
zebra dove cooing, cow fighting, and bodybuilding.
- Competitions of mountain biking, tennis and beach volleyball.

Tinsulanonda Bridge (Muang) |

the lake and is divided into 2 parts; the first links
Amphoe Muang and Ko Yo and the second links with Amphoe
Khao Khiao. The bridge is 1.8 kilometers long. |
