The Chao Phraya River has long been a part of the Thai lifestyle,
similar to the Thai people's closeness to the monarchy.
This is the origin of the first Chao Phraya River Festival
in 1999. It was also organized to celebrate the 72nd birthday
anniversary of His Majesty the King. The third festival
marks the 220th birthday of Bangkok.
Activities
:
- Musical fountain Show (a
performance by a symphony orchestra and Thai music) held
during the opening ceremony of the celebrations of the 220th
birthday of Bangkok (on Thursday, 14 February 2002).
- A Light and Sound Show to
celebrate the festival entitled "Lao Khan Maha Nakhon" (Capital
Tales) in the form of a magic show during 15-28 February
2002.
