To celebrate its 40th anniversary,
the Tourism Authority of Thailand is promoting Thai music through
a series of concerts featuring the Bangkok Symphony Orchestra
and held in various locations around Thailand known for its splendid
cultural heritage or breathtaking landscape.
The hour-long concerts, from 18:00 - 19:00, are held on weekends
and feature compositions by His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej,
traditional and folk melodies which speak of the outstanding qualities
of the province through the lyrics. Provincial school orchestras
perform the opening number.
The Bangkok Symphony Orchestra concert series is jointly sponsored
by TAT and Thai Airways International.
