Venue : Benjasiri Park, Sukhumvit Soi 22
Music In The
Queen's Park is a series of concerts, performed by school
symphonic orchestras, through which the audience gains a
new found appreciation for the Thai musical heritage. As
music is a form of cultural expression, it is as rich and
diverse as the culture it represents.
Each concert in the series is presented by a school orchestra
of between 60 to 100 musicians performing a range of musical
instruments and will be held every Saturday in December
2000, beginning from December 5, through January 2001 (except
for January 6), at Benjasiri Park, also referred to as "The
Queen's Park", just off Sukhumvit Soi 22. The performance
lasts 1 to 2 hours.
"Music In The Queen's Park", jointly organised by The Bangkok
Rotary Club - Benjasiri, the Mahidol University College
of Music, TAT, the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration and
the Imperial Queen's Park Hotel, reflects an effort to promote
social and community activities which contribute to the
development of youth.
